3-star classy restaurant Louvre

We went to Le Meurice, Yannick Aleno's restaurant, right after a few hours spent within the Louvre. As soon as you enter this amazing gourmet restaurant in Paris , you feel that you are up for an amazing culinary experience. We had heard that Le Meurice was a top quality restaurant and someone had even told us that it was the best restaurant in Paris ! We gave it a try in order to have our own opinion.

Well, we were glad we did as, in fact, Le Meurice is definitely a gourmet restaurant in Paris which is, on top of that, a very classy restaurant near the Louvre. Why a classy restaurant ? Well, just by the atmosphere you can tell you are in the heart of Paris and you are more than a mere client, you are a host at this classy restaurant located a few minutes from Le Louvre.

We had a wonderful lunch with ingredients we had never tasted before. Think of Foie Gras, artichoke, radish jelly (delicious), white truffle. and so on and so forth, a real experience in itself!

As for the desserts, let's say that they are sumptuous; I had a "rouleau chocolat guarana, truffe blanche" which means that I had a dessert made of chocolate with guarana and white truffle and which was just the best dessert I had ever had.

It was hard to leave Le Meurice which, we think, is definitely the best restaurant in Paris. The waiters were also very friendly and they took time to explain the different courses, which was comforting and also very interesting for us. We will come back to Le Meurice, this classy restaurant near the Louvre when we come back to France.

If you wish to try other gourmet restaurants, go to Pierre Gagnaire, the best restaurant in Paris for French friends of ours, or the Bristol.
